Vizier Packhouse Solutions supplies a system for automatic grading of bunches of grapes on a conveyor-belt.
Stone Three, in partnership with Vizier, has developed a grape sizing system called Grappa (similar to the Optical Fruit Sizer Module). Grappa integrates into their electro-mechanical systems to provide valuable, non-intrusive data on berry sizes, berry numbers, bunch sizes, volume and colour.
This visual information on grape bunches passing at speed on a conveyer-belt is coupled with electro-mechanical data to aid in the automatic sorting processes in packhouses. Grappa is capable of processing up to 5 bunches of grapes per second.
Grapes can then effectively be sorted according to combinations of volumetric size, colour, weight, dimensions and other criteria. Additionally, the optical system aids in diagnostics of the overall system whereby anomalies can be identified statistically.
