Lynxx is a turn-key ore-sizing system for conveyor belts. It is designed, developed and exclusively produced by Stone Three for Anglo Platinum Research.

The Lynxx system consists of:

• sensory rig attached to existing conveyor belts for recording video images
• server unit residing in an environmentally controlled server room for the required image processing
• Remote Viewer software application to allow monitoring of the system from anywhere in the world

This ensures that the system is robust and can be embedded in harsh environments. Data is provided to the plant via OPC and can be used, in turn, for process control.

Lynxx is used as a measurement device for the input and output for several comminution systems:

• Primary autogenous mill input
• Primary ball mill input
• Large cone crusher output
• Screened mill output (with oversize detection)
• High-pressure grinding roll input & output

The current Lynxx installations cover a significant range of conveyor belt structures and sizes; ore appearances and ore size composition. Lynxx is also used as an oversize detector in various scenarios.

An extensive evaluation of Lynxx performance has been conducted at Anglo Research Center's facilities in South Africa where it has been calibrated against real-world data.
