Vizier Packhouse Solutions supplies a roller-sizer system for automatic grading of uniform fruit on a conveyor-belt. Stone Three, in partnership with Vizier, has developed the Optical Fruit Sorting Module (OFSM) which integrates into their electro-mechanical systems to provide valuable, non-intrusive data on individual fruit size and colour.

This visual information on individual fruit passing at speed on a conveyer-belt is coupled with accurate weight measurements to aid in the automatic sorting processes in packhouses. Fruit can effectively be sorted according to combinations of volumetric size, colour, weight and dimension data. Additionally, the optical system aids in diagnostics of the overall system whereby anomalies in weight or volume data can be statistically identified.

The OFSM is capable of processing up to 20 individual fruit per second.
