Treparel's KMX (Knowledge Mapping and Exploration) platform is a suite of integrated tools that allows a user to do complex data searches on a data source (e.g. Oracle database, Adobe PDF, Microsoft Office, etc.) using complex algorithms.

PaVis (from Patent Visualisation), in turn is a client application that allows users to perform classifications on database entries.

The need for such an application is simply owing to the fact that to register a new patent, one needs to ensure that a similar patent does not yet exist. Traditional patent specialists are expensive and the required domain knowledge presents a significant barrier to entry for individuals without specific skills in this arena. PaVis aims to automate this process for such users without specific expertise in IP classication.

PaVis was developed by Treparel and is currently being used in the European market. Stone Three is currently working in partnership with Treparel to develop PaVis 2 - an enhanced version of PaVis with increased cross-platform stability and usability.
